How AI is used

Nestmatch uses Google's Gemini models in three places: to restyle a photo of your room into three new looks, to list the pieces in a look you both like with estimated prices, and to write the reveal of the style you share. The models are called from our servers, never from your device, and our access key is never included in the app.

Before your first room photo is sent, the app tells you what is shared and with whom, and asks for your agreement; our servers refuse to send a photo without it. The restyle instructions keep your room's walls, windows, doors and camera angle, change only what could be bought or painted, and ask for no people, text or logos. Anything you type for the designer is passed on as your request, never as an instruction that changes how the app behaves. The reveal is written from your quiz results and first names only, and is told to treat your differences kindly and never to mention scores. Every answer is checked against a fixed format and length before it is saved, and each look is labelled as an AI render in the app.

Ideas, not specifications

Everything the AI produces in Nestmatch is a source of ideas. A look shows what a style could feel like in your room; it is not a measured plan, a product listing or professional interior-design, architectural or building advice. Estimated prices are indications for similar items, not quotes.

You stay in charge

The AI suggests; the two of you decide. Nothing goes into your plan unless you both like it, AI never buys anything, never contacts a shop, and never changes a room, a budget or a vote. Nothing a model produces is applied without you seeing it.

Automated decision-making

Your style profile and compatibility score are calculated from your quiz swipes to shape your looks and your reveal. They do not produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect you, they are shown only to you and your partner, and nothing in the app scores you for a purpose outside the app.

Limitations

AI images can get things wrong. A look may change something it was asked to keep, show furniture at an unrealistic scale, or include details that are hard to find or build. Piece lists can miss items or misname them, and estimated prices can be far from what a shop charges. Two restyles of the same photo will differ. The model may also decline a photo, most often one with people in it.

We would rather say this plainly than let a photoreal image imply a reliability the technology does not have.

Privacy

Room photos, the looks built from them, and your quiz results are sent to the model provider only to produce your results. They are not used to identify you or to train its systems, and we never send email addresses or account ids. Take room photos without people in them where you can. The results are stored privately in your nest, visible to you and your partner. Our Privacy Policy describes what we store and for how long.

No exaggerated claims

We do not claim that Nestmatch is an interior designer, that its looks can be built exactly as shown, or that its prices are what you will pay. It is a playful way for two people to find a style they share and to agree on what to buy, and it is useful in proportion to how honestly it is described.

Changes over time

We change the instructions, the style catalogue and the models behind Nestmatch as better ones become available, which means looks and reveals can shift over time. Where a change materially alters what the AI does with your photos, we will update this policy and say so in the app rather than let it change silently.
